Circular Journeys

Several weeks ago, I got an email from an old Objectivist friend, Andrew Breese, that included a link to his girlfriend's (Anarchista) site , which I visited.   As I mention in my first journal entry, visiting that site was one factor among several prompting me to begin my online journal.   After a month of keeping the online journal, I decided to do some modifications to the site now that it's become a regular daily affair.  During a BORING training session at work Friday, I was playing on the 'net and discovered a whole host of webrings devoted to online journals.  So my project today was to begin to join some of those.   This led me to revise my Journal Index page to include those links and offer some additional commentary as to why I was keeping the journal.  I found a particularly interesting site, Bayou City Burbs, that lists online journal'ers in Houston.  Imagine my surprise when I visited Khava's site to discover a great quote on Bill Gates, Standard Oil, etc -- and then the very first journal entry describes... Anarchista, and subsequent entries talk about Andrew, as well as an explanation why she keeps a journal that is entirely too similar to my own.

Additionally, I took in the Houston International Festival today.  Reckless Kelly played, and really were revved up.   The new guitarist brings an edgier sound to the band, and they really seemed to enjoy themselves.  It was an amazing day to be out -- sunny, but with a nice breeze to keep it from being too warm.  I'm afraid I'm not up for their encore performance tonight at the Satellite.  I hope they do another Mucky Duck show before heading out for the summer!

I think I've spent enough time at the 'puter today, so I'm trading it for the Kaplan book now, which has been much neglected of late.
