Today was filled with all sorts of mundane minutiae.  About 10:30 pm tonight I finally was able to turn my attention away from paying bills, balancing checkbooks, doing laundry, cleaning the apartment, cooking dinner for the week upcoming, and do something intellectual.  Except the task at hand is not terribly intellectual at all.  I have an old Nietzsche paper that established Nietzsche's moral teachings as a forerunner to Rand's notion of the sanction of the victim.  Unfortunately, my hard drive crashed a couple of years ago, killing all of my academic papers as well as my dissertation work up to that point (the reconstruction from scratch was painfully slow).  So Kev gets to retype the damn thing, replete with Nietzsche's funky punctuation!  What a pain.  I got about one-third of the way through tonight, and am not going to finish.  So, unfortunately it has to wait until tomorrow.  As does my critique of the essay on Ayn Rand that appeared ages ago in the Atlantic.  John sent me the link to the essay, and it really does need to be addressed.  But not tonight unfortunately.  Mundane tasks have taken all of my time, and now my brain must be put to bed, barely used today.
