Today was good. We didn’t have any meetings in the morning, so I stayed in and finished the Strauss book. Then we went to the office to begin setting up the conference room, and paid a visit on Canadian Hunter. It was really a courtesy call to check on how they were doing with their Giant evaluation, but the nice thing about the Canadians is that they are very kind if people are in from out of town, and they listened to us talk about PEPS and political risk.

We then retired for dinner later in the evening with one of Terry’s old Claremont buddies, Joe Woodard, and wife. Woodard is another Jaffa/Rood student who’s just a very thoughtful man. The dinner was quite nice. The Rood/Claremont experience is almost like a brotherhood. There may be disagreements in the family, but because of our common experience and education we are able to cut through a lot of crap and just talk about things that matter. I enjoyed them immensely. Hallmark has some good friends.
