Drinking,
You Say?
What a productive day! I managed to do laundry, pick up stuff from the cleaners, get my hair cut, cook breakfast for a change, and then head out for a Spanish Village evening. Of course, it could have been more productive -- I had hoped to give Hanah a ring when I was out in west Houston, but I just ran out of time. And the apartment is still a disaster area. But at least there is progress. We've had a young engineer in from our UK office working on a project, and unfortunately for a variety of reasons I just haven't had the time to take him out socially and show him some of Houston's more "interesting" places. So last night, we dragged young Andrew out to Spanish Village and afterwards made a stop at the Icehouse, where we closed down the joint (I guess it helps to know the owner?). Andrew and I had a fine chat about the sad state of affairs within the company, outdoors gear, and other topics. He's a really bright guy, and I'm a little irritated with myself that I've only now found the time to get to know him, since his flight back home is Sunday afternoon. I'll have to be sure and look him up while I am over there.
