Warped Collage

Today, the journal main page got an esthetic revision.  I spend much of the day putting together a graphical collage of people and things that are important to me.   It took a lot longer than I expected, but I think it gives a much more personal feel to the journal, which, after all, is a very personal thing.  The one drawback -- it's about 30k worth of graphics files and will load slowly on some machines.  I decided it was worth it, since most navigation within the journal takes place further into the directory nest on pages that are not loaded with graphics at all.  I was a little bored with the previous configuration.

I've had a good time looking back over the graphics now that it's all done.  With a few hints, Callie managed to nail down virtually the entire collage.  I don't know if there's anyone else I know who could do that.  A further note for those who are wondering -- I would have included a few other personal photos in the collage, but I don't actually HAVE photos of those people.  So if you don't see yourself and think you should -- well, send me a photo and you too can be a candidate for Kev's Ring of Honor.   Or whatever I should call the damn thing.

Callie suggested I make a quiz of the collage.  "Silly girl," I told her, "you presume someone is interested."  Maybe someone is.  So nail down everything on the collage and you win.... well, I'm not sure.  Maybe a night of margaritas, enchiladas, and my wit at Spanish Village?  That should scare off all 3 potential entrants, huh?

I've also added some links to journals that I visit frequently on the main page.   Everyone knows I visit Hanah's page regularly (and it is time for Hanah to return from the TOC seminar -- I haven't seen her in forever).  Also, I've become a regular reader of Jonelin, Erzse, and Jaffo.   Check them out!

It seems that Sitemeter is having some troubles right now, so for the time being they have disabled the web stats/counter -- the first time I've known them to have any downtime, actually.  Things seem to be hanging pretty badly.  My apologies to anyone who is suffering through loading delays.
