Reading:  The Visit by Friedtich Durrenmatt

Blar

This term comes from an interesting webring.   Check it out.  I discovered it via a visitor to my site, who left a link to her own beautifully designed journal site, Machinations.   Check it out also!

I say BLAR because the cold has intensified and I'm dragging miserably.  I was a sweaty mess most of the unusually hot day.  There were several jokes in the office about us bringing the heat with us from Texas.  I wasn't particularly amused.

We had lunch in a pub, and it nearly killed me.  Sore scratchy throat meets a bloke who was sitting at a table near us smoking the most offensive cigarettes one can imagine.  I think I'll take lunch with me tomorrow, so as to avoid a repeat.

Callie has picked up a  stomach bug and spent much of the day puking.  BLAR.   She's better this evening -- and I'm a little better having slept through much of it.  I was able to sleep after removing the device from the window that kept it from opening more than three inches and made the room ridiculously hot.  Tell me:   who builds a hotel with no a/c, then fixes the windows so they won't open?   But yes -- American culture triumphs again, as the window opens now, by God!   I removed the bolt using my keys.  MacGyver meets London!

I will admit, however, that Americans ought just to give up playing soccer.  We certainly don't compare favorably.  Graham's play opens tomorrow.  I need to finish reading it.
