Good Analysis versus Web Savvy

After a good amount of sleep, I woke up miserable.  Then I went in to the office.   That made me more miserable.

I look around and think we are on a collision course with disaster.  Our group -- EPAG -- is excellent, but within the company there just seems to be so little concern with quality, excellence, performance, etc.  I think constantly of ways to improve Hallmark's product that are inexpensive and innovative.  To the extent I can implement them by myself, with no egos or bureaucracy to get in the way or to question my authority, I do so .  These are few circumstances.  And so we creep along.

I looked up our competition's web presence -- Control Risks Group (good), Stratfor (wankers), Economist Intelligence Unit (good) -- and they all utilize things that we could and should be doing in terms of internet delivery, but that we aren't, can't, won't, whatever lame reason you want to insert.  So we are left to rely on our analysis, which is far superior to the competition's -- to offset the fact we can't deliver our stuff in a timely manner.  Am I wrong to think the internet information delivery revolution means that we come out on the losing end of this proposition?  We'll see.

I did not make it to Graham's play.   I took a nap instead.  I told Callie about my crappy workday.  She told me about problems she's having workwise with one of her accounts, and we went off to lament these things over pizza.

Bedtime.
